I love this time of year. The beauty around us. The holiday preparation. The cold and early nights bring me inside my home more. This is an opportunity to go within. Reflect. Find quietude. It's an opportunity to make my home cozy, restful, nourishing and creative. Think hygge.
This time of year hold so much beauty, but it can feel long, cold, dark and dreary from time to time. This is when our practice and deep nourishment comes in. We need it. It is a gateway to well-being and balance. My newest session on my YouTube channel is a grounding and calming session that is wonderful to practice when feeling tired or stiff or maybe stressed.
At Bliss Yoga House, the theme for December is Winter Living.
Winter is a time for restoration and introspection. It's a time for creativity, open heart and gathering inner strength. The days are the shortest in December and nights the longest. "We will immerse ourselves in the darkness and there discover its own particular beauty."
Winter is a reminder to slow down. Winter show us the beauty of light and darkness. It's a time to take exquisite care of our body. To move, stretch, breathe and find deep stillness.
How do you want to feel and live this season?
What are your intentions?
Here are my intentions: I'm going to stick to my practice that grounds me and makes me feel balanced. I will make it cozy at home and eat breakfast and dinner with lit candles. I'm going to take the time and read a book. I will enjoy quiet walks in the woods. I will bring some form of creativity into my everyday. I’m going to enjoy cozy movie nights with good company and popcorn. I will release doubts about my work and weave in consistency into my workday. I want community. I want simplicity and abundance.
